Quieter, Smoother, Faster: The Next-Gen M18 FUEL™ SURGE™
MILWAUKEE, WI - Continuing to drive productivity and safety on the jobsite, Milwaukee® introduces the next generation M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ ¼" Hex Hydraulic Driver. Designed for a broad range of residential, commercial, and maintenance trades, the new driver delivers a quieter, smoother, and more ergonomic user experience. Fully redesigned, this solution features increased speed and performance while maintaining industry leading sound and vibration reduction when compared to a standard impact driver.
“By working alongside users on site, we found that professionals valued the sound and vibration benefits of the first-generation M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ but required more speed and capability to meet evolving jobsite demands,” said Patrick Lueck, Director of Product Management. “With this new generation, we’ve achieved significant performance and durability gains in a more compact design to unlock the sound and vibration advantages of the SURGE™ Hydraulic Driver for a wider range of end users.”
The new M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ features a ground-up redesign of the FLUID-DRIVE™ Hydraulic Powertrain that delivers up to 50% quieter operation than standard impact drivers. The significant reduction in noise for a tool used daily by many professionals helps to limit long-term hearing risks for users. This quieter performance also makes the SURGE™ Hydraulic Driver an ideal solution for use in occupied spaces or noise-restricted locations, enabling professionals to work confidently with minimal disruption to surrounding areas.
Delivering a noticeably smoother driving experience, the M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ Hydraulic Driver reduces metal-on-metal contact within the tool, with up to 3X less vibration than standard impacts. Impact driver users will experience less fatigue and strain in application while using the M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ Hydraulic Driver. The new SURGE™ Hydraulic Driver is also 0.7” shorter and 0.3 lbs lighter than the previous generation, making it easier to maneuver in confined spaces and more comfortable to use over extended periods.
The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor delivers up to 3X faster driving speeds than the first generation and 1,000 in-lbs of torque, expanding the range of applications. This capability, combined with an improved trigger design and 3-MODE DRIVE CONTROL™, ensures users can find the right balance of speed and control needed on the jobsite. REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence provides advanced thermal management and overload protection, allowing the tool to run cooler and more efficiently during extended use.
Milwaukee is committed to improving productivity by providing performance-driven and trade-focused solutions, so users can perform an entire day's work on one battery system. The M18 FUEL™ SURGE™ 1/4" Hex Hydraulic Driver is fully compatible with the entire M18™ line, now offering more than 300 solutions.
*M18 FUEL™ is engineered for the most demanding tradesmen in the world. Delivering unrivaled performance, all M18 FUEL™ products feature three Milwaukee®-exclusive innovations—The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLITHIUM™ Battery Pack and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence Hardware and Software—that deliver unmatched power, run-time, and durability on the jobsite.
