Milwaukee® Adds Arm Protection to PPE Line

MILWAUKEE, WI- Milwaukee Tool continues their dedication to personal protective equipment by expanding into arm protection. Offering ANSI/EN388* rated Cut Level 5 Protective Sleeves and Cut Level 3 Protective Sleeves, the new solutions help prevent arm lacerations and help keep users safe and productive.

"Arm lacerations are becoming more common, increasing the demand and requirement for cut-resistant sleeves on jobsites," says Zach Richman, Director of Product Marketing for Milwaukee Tool. "Some of the main uses and requirements for sleeves have been for demolition work, overhead work in unfinished spaces, service work in metal buildings, and sheet metal handling. At Milwaukee, we have invested in research and product development to create protective sleeves to meet the demands of the jobsite while being comfortable."

These sleeves are designed to provide users with a comfortable fit and all-day protection. The secure tapered fit and silicone printed bicep band prevent sliding, reduce sagging, and limit material bunching and an elastic thumb loop keeps the sleeve in place when putting on gloves. To help users stay cool and protected while working in hot conditions, they have a moisture-wicking fabric that dries fast and are UPF50+ rated. The protective arm sleeves are constructed of a comfortable 4-way stretch material that does not restrict movement and allows a greater range of motion.

Sizing options will include 18in and 16in sizes to fit a wide range of arm lengths. Like Milwaukee Cut Rated gloves, they have color-coded wristbands to quickly identify cut levels: red for Cut Level 5 and black for Cut Level 3. Cut Level 5 Protective Sleeves are constructed of a 13-gauge knit, while the Cut Level 3 Protective Sleeves are a 15-gauge knit that is lightweight and breathable.

Milwaukee Tool’s new cut resistant sleeves demonstrate the company’s focus on creating innovative solutions that won’t slow users down, helping them STAY SAFE. STAY PRODUCTIVE™. *ANSI Cut Level: In 2016 the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) released a new edition known as the ANSI/ISEA 105 standard. This standard provided new testing methods, including a new scale to determine cut scores. The standard increased the cut score scale from 1 to 9 to provide more consistency between levels and with the European (EN 388) ratings. Each of these 9 cut score levels are determined by the amount of force the glove can withstand. For example, ANSI/ISEA Level 1 gloves are classified for protection from lighter weight forces, and ANSI Level 9 gloves are classified for protection from heavier forces.
